Jack Dorsey Reveals Information About Square’s Bitcoin Project
In a recent interview with The Next Web, Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, talked about the plans that they have about Bitcoin (BTC). Steve Lee is going to build the rest of the team focused on the most popular digital asset and it will define the future path they will be taking. They are currently thinking about hiring five engineers and one designer that will be working on a single project.
The need for a designer in an early stage project is related to the fact that virtual currencies must have a more accessible infrastructure, which is something they currently do not have. In order to improve that, it will be necessary to have a designer since the very beginning.
He said that they want to see significant open-source contributions to several projects, not only Bitcoin Core. Furthermore, he mentioned that they are going to be conducting code reviews to speed up development. Although there are several developers helping in different crypto projects, just a few of them are currently checking the correctness of the code.
It is worth mentioning that earlier this year, Jack Dorsey informed that they are planning to integrate the Lightning Network (LN) into Square’s Cash app, which is going to be very positive for Bitcoin.
Dorsey has also talked about the future of Bitcoin. About it, he said:
“There is not going to be any one party or institution that makes this global currency happen, and there’s not going to be any one party or institution that can stop it from happening.”
The CEO of Twitter has also talked about Facebook and its plans to launch a digital currency. He said that this is an opportunity to align every single community and country, which is something that would provide a lot of clarity, enable a lot more innovation and create a probability of much greater access for more individuals around the world.
